Women's Hanfu in the Wei-Jin Period (220-420 AD) is characterized by ethereal elegance and natural unconventionality. Influenced by the metaphysical thought of "transcending conventional ethics to follow nature", it broke away from the rigid forms of the Han Dynasty and pursued a free-spirited and casual expression in clothing.

The core styles include cross-collar Ruqun, front-opening wide-sleeved shirt, and Peizi. The cross-collar Ruqun features a right-overlapping cross collar on the upper Ru, with a loose, floor-length lower skirt that flows gracefully when worn. The front-opening wide-sleeved shirt is mostly made of lightweight fabrics like gauze and silk gauze, presenting a unrestrained silhouette of "loose robes and broad sashes" with wide sleeves like drooping wings. The Peizi is draped over the shoulders, swaying naturally with movements and adding an airy charm.

Fabrics are mainly gauze, silk gauze, and linen, with craftsmanship focusing on the lightness and translucency of the fabrics themselves, abandoning complicated decorations. Colors are mostly plain white, light cyan, light gray, and other elegant tones. Accessories include buyao (tasseled hairpins), jade hairpins, and Peijin (shawls), which overall highlight the reclusive aesthetic of "harmony between man and nature". It is a concrete manifestation of the spiritual pursuit and social culture of noble women in the Wei-Jin Period.
