The Ming Dynasty was the last dynasty established by the Han ethnic group. The Ming Dynasty once again achieved great unification by the Han ethnic group. Interestingly, the Ming Dynasty was the only regime in Chinese history that successfully carried out a "northern expedition" and achieved "great unification.". It lasted for 276 years, from 1368 when Zhu Yuanzhang proclaimed himself emperor in Yingtianfu (Nanjing) to 1644 when Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself in Beijing.
In terms of style, craftsmanship, and fabric, as well as cultural connotation and influence, the Hanfu of the Ming Dynasty reached a very high level. After nearly a century of cultural shock, the Ming Dynasty established an extremely complete system of ritual clothing. There were corresponding clothing systems for emperors, generals, civil and military officials, as well as ordinary people, regardless of gender or age. Well-known Hanfu such as the Mamian skirt, Feiyu robe, and Fengguan Xiapi (bridal attire with phoenix coronet and embroidered cape) are all classic Ming Dynasty Hanfu. Among contemporary Hanfu enthusiasts, some are loyal fans of Ming Dynasty Hanfu. Both men and women can find suitable combinations for themselves.
