Core Features of the Warring States Robe

Warring States Robe Style

Marked by the "cross-collar with right overlap" (the lapels overlap to the right, with the left lapel pressing over the right). For daily wear, the "straight skirt (of the robe)" is the main style (with a vertical hem); for ceremonial occasions, the "curved skirt (of the robe)" is used (the lapels wrap around the body 1-2 times). Both styles are wide robes with large sleeves.

Warring States Robe Fabric & Color

  • Nobles wore silk fabrics such as silk gauze and brocade (e.g., Chu Brocade), in colors like cinnabar red and mineral blue, often embroidered with cloud patterns or coiled chi-dragon patterns.
  • Commoners wore coarse hemp or kudzu cloth, mostly in plain colors (white, gray).

Warring States Robe Wearing Style

A silk sash or leather belt was a must. Men’s robes reached the instep, while women’s robes were slightly shorter, reaching the ankles. Women’s robes usually had simple patterns embroidered on the cuffs and hems.

Warring States Robe Design

This cross collar Zhiju Robe (straight - skirt robe) in the Warring States style is crafted from red silk with excellent drape. The collar and cuffs are adorned with matching gold - embroidered trims, which softly glow as light dances upon them. When worn, it makes one look like a celestial being descending to earth.

Please note that the pattern print is not fixed, the position will be random and differ from the product images.

This outfit includes: one red cross-collar robe, one belt.
