Who We Are
Dear Hanfu Companions Worldwide,
We are Shelia and Neil, a couple living in Beijing, China. Our shared passion for traditional culture brought us together, and we started our little family in 2012, welcoming our daughters Emily in 2016 and Elsa in 2017.
As parents to these two little Hanfu enthusiasts, we’ve experienced every single pain point that new overseas Hanfu lovers face:
- Receiving "children's Hanfu" with sleeve lengths of 140cm (which were actually adult sizes).
- Being amazed by beautiful online embroidery, only to receive a garment with fabric as stiff as cardboard.
- Trying to find authentic Tang Dynasty Ruqun, but ending up with cheap, stage-costume-style sets.
- Even bringing home a gorgeous Mamian skirt and having no idea how to tie the waistbands correctly...
Seeing the disappointment in our daughters' eyes, we realized that thousands of Hanfu lovers worldwide must be facing the exact same struggles. We knew we had to change this—and that's how Jianxi Hanfu was born in 2024.
Since our launch, the incredible support from the global community has blown us away. To fully commit to serving our customers, we both made the choice to step down from our stable corporate careers one after another, dedicating ourselves 100% full-time to this shared family mission.
